I have gone to Homecoming every year since I have been at Kennedy and often see some interesting things going on. So here are some tips on how to have a good Homecoming experience.
First of all the type of dress girls wear. I have seen some pretty interesting dresses and often question if it was really supposed to be a shirt. If you feel the need to wear a dress that is so skin tight that you can barely move in it and is so short you can’t bend down without showing something then please rethink about going out. Nobody wants to see any of that and we often feel embarrassed for you. If you think the only way you can attract a boy is to wear outfits like that then you need to set your priorities a little bit higher. Another thing that bothers me is strapless dresses. If you have to pull up your dress every time you move then maybe you should find a new dress that fits better or get some straps. We have made up a new dance move that goes like this: pull the dress up, dance, pull the dress up, dance. This is not an attractive move.
Enjoy yourself. Whether you are going with a date or a group of friends make the most of the time you have and have fun.
Dance. Don’t stand in a circle looking awkward at one another; you didn’t pay eight dollars for something you could do anytime for free. Even if you are a bad dancer nobody is paying attention and it’s too dark to really notice what you are doing. Also there are probably worst dancers out on the dance floor than you.
Last but not least take pictures. You want to be able to look back years from now and remember what you wore to the dance and who you went with. It also will trigger some good memories that you experienced that year.
