Looking Back on 2011 (part 3)

Softball: again this is another sport that I played that many people didn’t know about. I had played softball every year since kindergarten in the summertime. I never really played completely like clubs but I played it through the YMCA and then Cedar Hills. The positions I played were mainly pitcher (I wasn’t really super super fast but I was really accurate) and second base or short stop. This year though was the first year I didn’t play it because I got a job. It was the first summer that my family didn’t go to a softball game that I or my little sister would be playing in. It felt really weird in June and July because we grew so use to it. I kind of missed not playing softball even though if I played it this year it would had been my last due to age restrictions.

A.P. Test: in 2011 I took my first AP class and test in World History. I would definitely say that it wasn’t an easy course or an enjoyable one for that matter (there were some parts that were okay). I really could have cared less who ruled what dynasty or all the Islamic kingdoms and there location. The big thing though was that I passed the class with an A all three trimesters and I passed the AP Test giving me college credit. Taking an AP class for the first time made me realize that you should procrastinated on things and you should always study and not leave the day before a test. Taking the AP test for the first time open my eyes to what college test will be like. The wording was all new and the questions were quite difficult. Writing the essays, you didn’t get any clues as to what you were supposed to use all you get is the question and then you use your own knowledge. We practiced these things throughout the year so it doesn’t come at you as a complete surprise.

College Mail: I received my first college mail this year. Since taking the Plain test as a sophomore the colleges gain access to your address and your email. I get about at least one college mailing either in my email or in my mailbox at least once every two days. For the ones that come through the mail I keep then in a separate box to see how much I accumulated throughout my high school years.  Getting my first college mailing made me realize that college is just around the corner, which is a little scary and exciting at the same time.
